How accurate is Annogator?

Annogator is still in beta and is not 100% accurate. However, even a 70% accuracy rate is a win over the course of hundreds of jobs.

For now it handles live text better than rasterized images.

Annogator Pro offers increased accuracy since it utilizes a claims database.

We are actively working to analyze and improve our accuracy.

What happens to a claim it can't source?

It says so, and leaves it unboxed. Annogator will not invent a citation to fill a gap.

Does it use AI?

Not at run time. The matching is deterministic: the same job and the same references produce the same annotations every time. Nothing is generated, and there is nothing to hallucinate.

Does it replace my editor?

No. It does the hunting, not the judging. We recommend that a human at your company remains in the loop to check Annogator's work prior to submission or public release of your material.

Security

Is Annogator SOC 2 certified?

No. Our hosts are. Netlify and Render each maintain SOC 2 Type II attestation, and Netlify additionally holds ISO 27001. Annogator itself is a small company and has not been through an audit of its own; we'd rather say so than let the hosting certifications imply otherwise.

Is my file encrypted at rest?

There is no “at rest” to encrypt. Your file is never written to a database, an object store, or a persistent disk. It exists in a temporary directory for the few seconds the conversion takes and is gone before the response leaves the server.

Should I upload confidential client material?

No. Please don't. The demo runs entirely on material we supply so the question never arises, and even for Lite we'd ask you to work from published references rather than anything under embargo. If you need annotation on genuinely confidential work, that is what Annogator Pro exists for — it runs on your infrastructure and we never see a thing.
